What is the best part about my role here at TRCC: Every day is a new experience and another chance to grow in my faith. I have the opportunity to spend my workweek with some of the most amazing, godly people I have ever met. Despite their individual differences, everyone here is working together for one reason - to glorify God.
When I was saved: I was saved in April of 1998 at the end of a week of Vacation Bible School when I was 8 years old. That’s probably one of the main reasons I’m so involved and dedicated when it comes to kids – I know what a difference an adult can make in the mind and heart of a child.
One of the things I find most fascinating: I’ve taken a few courses in astronomy in college and it really put into perspective for me just how incredibly tiny Earth really is. When you think about how vast the universe is, and that God created everything in it, the fact that He has a vested interest in each living thing on this Earth is beyond fascinating to me.
My favorite place on earth: Anywhere along the Eastern Sierra Mountain Range. I grew up camping, hiking and fishing there with my family and go back as many times each year as I possibly can. I hope that one day I can move somewhere closer to the mountains, but I’ll just have to wait and see what God has planned for me!
Best thing someone said to me: When teaching preschool one weekend here at TRCC, I was having my 2 and 3 year olds repeat the bible verse for that week back to me so they could put a sticker by their name on our sticker chart. The verse was something short and sweet out of the book of Deuteronomy. When I asked one little girl why she should listen to that verse and follow what it said she told me, with a completely serious face, “Because the dude says to, Miss Sara.” (Deuteronomy by a two year old is pronounced Dude-er-on-o-me)
What makes me laugh: The better question is what doesn’t make me laugh! I find humor in almost everything, so just about anything that is even remotely amusing will make me laugh. I think almost everyone in the office is that way though – we are always laughing at something. But only when we aren’t working, of course! ;).
